Natalie Bakopoulos – The Invoked Listener: Time and Telling (January 2024)

$5.00

Natalie Bakopoulos’s lecture focuses on the uses of invocation in first-person narratives about loss. In exploring how such works can move beyond an examination of personal grief to become a public act of mourning, she also investigates how invoking a listener can be an attempt to shape, rewrite, or contribute to collective memory and to assert a particular kind of narrative control.
