Adrienne Celt – The Charismatic Shape: Using Form and Structure as an Animating Force (July 2022)

$5.00

In fiction—and especially novels—we sometimes act as if the structure of our work is a matter most worthy of attention
only in revision. But structure doesn’t have to be an afterthought: it can embody or even create the thematic possibilities
for a piece of writing, both within the finished product and in the very act of creation. Among the texts explored: Italo
Calvino’s If on a winter’s night a traveler, Charles Yu’s Interior Chinatown,vSusan Choi’s Trust Exercise, and more.
